Timothy J. Miller, 1986

Winter 2022 (February 14, 2022)

Timothy J. Miller, 55, of Owatonna, earned his wings and passed away under hospice care at his home on Sunday, June 2, 2019, after an 8 ½ year battle with brain cancer. He was a loving husband and father.

Timothy was born Oct. 22, 1963, in Grundy Center, Iowa, to John and Phyllis (Meyer) Miller. Tim graduated from Luther College in Iowa, where he excelled at sports. After graduating college, Tim moved to Owatonna and later Phoenix, Ariz., where he met his wife, Kelli Thompson. The two moved back to Minn., and lived in various cities. Tim owned an Allstate Insurance Agency and was a banker for numerous banks.

Tim loved being with family playing board games, watching sports, especially the Hawkeyes and Vikings, picking and canning corn, and helping with other miscellaneous “jobbies.” One of his favorite things to do was go for drives. His sense of direction was top notch, even on his last days.

Tim was a kind hearted, selfless man. Throughout his long battle he still always put others before himself. He was a humble human being who gave all he had to make others feel special.

He is survived by his wife, Kelli Miller; son, Jeff Wobbrock; daughters, Michelle Wobbrock, Amber (and Zac) Mcgaughy, and Mackenzie Miller; mother, Phyllis Miller; grandchildren, Caden, Toby, Brylee, Sophia, Millie; brothers; Jim (and Anne) Miller, and Terry Miller; mother-in-law, Betty Buss; brother and sister in-laws, Bryn and James Richard, Bryce and Jerry Mann, Debbie Heacox, Brent and Jan Buss, Brett and Roberta Buss, Brian and Lisa Buss, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Miller; father-in-law, Allen Buss; and brothers-in-law, Bruce Buss, Steve Thompson, and Greg Heacox.

Weep not for me, for I am free. Gazing across the deep blue sea. Where my soul longs to be.

Memorial services were held June 8, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church in Claremont with Reverend Douglas Walters officiating. Memorials are preferred to the Homestead Hospice House or the Presbyterian Church of Claremont.
