Luther offers over 60 majors, minors and pre-professional programs. Our rigorous and engaging liberal arts curriculum provides plenty of opportunity for you to study a number of different subjects. In fact, we encourage it!

As a liberal arts college, Luther encourages an approach to learning that makes connections between subjects and also connects individual learning to the larger world. In this spirit, you will engage in an education beyond the classroom walls—through collaborative research with professors, study-away programs, and prestigious internships, to name just a few examples.
Integral to a Luther education is our signature Paideia program. Paideia is an interdisciplinary course series that strengthens community through shared academic experience. First-year students in the Paideia program share a common reading list and attend performances, events, and an annual lecture series together.
