In the 2019-2020 season, the Dance department at Luther had the honor of holding events hosted by Luther Alumni. Below are the events that were held.

Exchange: Somatic Memory and Sensory Input

Alumni Guest: Colleen Oster
Wednesdays 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, and 10/16.
A 4-phase embodied practice focused on directing attention towards environmental sensory input.


Chicago Aerial Dance Workshop

Alumni Guest: Amy Jones '04
Friday, October 4th from 4-7pm and Saturday, October 5th from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm in Studio 2.
Amy graduated Luther in 2004 with degrees in Theatre/Dance and Management. She has performed concert dance, commercial dance, and experimental and interdisciplinary art in NYC, Minneapolis and on tour. Amy was an advertising and event sales manager for a family of dance magazines and is currently a fitness instructor and teacher trainer in aerial fitness, bungee fitness, pilates and circuit training.
Amy combined her loves of dance and aerial fitness for the "Razzle Dazzle" piece for Chicago. She was inspired by the work of Bob Fosse and the flow of aerial lyra movement.

Orchesis Hip Hop Workshop

Alumni Guest: Brennan Harvey Wylder
October 4, 2019

Brennan is a choreographer, Hip Hop dancer, and freelance performer. She performed with AXXENT during season five of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, and has had work featured in many music videos and web series. She has continued to perform around the world, and now travels choreographing and adjudicating for Jr. High and High School show choirs around the country. She works as a dance instructor with Fairview Elementary's Arts Academy and is the choreographer of the Fairview Show Choirs!

Brennan's workshop was open to all dancers, though she worked particularly with Orchesis Dance Company.
