Groups and Organizations

The Office for College Ministries sponsors, supports, and partners with a variety of student organizations and interest groups.
Contact [email protected] for information about the following organizations.

Catholic Student Community

Roman Catholic students at Luther work with a local priest to plan worship, retreats, classes, and other activities. All are welcome within our community. Catholic Mass is celebrated on campus once a month. Other weekends, students may carpool to St. Benedict's parish on Saturdays at 3:45 p.m. for 4:00 p.m. mass and Sundays at 9:45 a.m. for 10:00 a.m. mass.

Council for Faith and Life

CFAL is a student advisory council that works with the Office for College Ministries to oversee the role of faith in campus life and to build/maintain collaborative relationships across departments, faith traditions, and the wider community. CFAL is open to students of all faith traditions, backgrounds, and commitments.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

FCA, an interdenominational and evangelical organization, strives to strengthen the moral, mental, and spiritual fibers of athletes, coaches, and all interested non-athletes through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. For more information check out www.fca.org and 'Like' the Luther College FCA Facebook page!

Luther College Habitat for Humanity

Started in 1992, the Luther College Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter (LCHFH) has been active in the community and abroad, helping to build, fundraise, advocate, and educate the Luther College community and the greater community around us. Luther College Habitat for Humanity organizes several awareness and fundraising events each year, participates in area house builds, and plans an annual spring break service trip. Visit Luther Habitat's Facebook Page or email [email protected] for more information.

College Ministries Outreach

Outreach teams are student-led mobile ministry groups who specialize in worship leadership and youth ministry support for congregations within a 100-mile radius of Decorah. As a member of an Outreach team, you partner with congregations by leading worship, organizing Bible studies or faith formation events, and planning youth events, including retreats and lock-ins.

PALS and GrandPALS

PALS and GrandPALS connect Luther students with members of the Decorah community for regular, one-on-one relationship building and mentoring. PALS connects Luther students with area elementary and middle-school students. GrandPALS matches Luther students with residents at local nursing homes, including Aase Haugen and Barthell Eastern Star Home.

People for the Rights and Inclusion of Diversity and Expression (PRIDE)

PRIDE is an organization working for the equality and rights of all people. We strive to create a campus wide environment that is accepting of LGBTQAI+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, and Inter-sex) persons, as well as those allies who support GSM (Gender and Sexual Minority) issues, where any individual can feel safe and comfortable.
